About the Speaker:

Mizi Ádadadló Ts'ika at'a, Danit' ada (Strives to Complete Goals Beyond all Barriers Woman), also known as Dr. Teena Starlight, is a proud member of the Tsuut’ina Nation and a passionate advocate for Indigenous youth and education.

Dr. Starlight brings a wealth of experience to this conversation, having served as a teacher and Vice Principal at Chiila Elementary, and as the Tsuut’ina Curriculum Developer for Education. She has also been a professor at Mount Royal University, teaching the Indigenous Perspectives course in Education and conducting climate change research from an Indigenous perspective. Currently, she is the Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program National Director for Ever Active Schools.

Dr. Starlight's dedication to empowering Indigenous youth is evident in her work, which bridges Western and Indigenous knowledge systems. She recently completed her Education Doctorate from Werklund University, further strengthening her commitment to sharing her knowledge and skills with younger generations.
