On December 10th, 2020, we hosted a Town Hall on the five reasons why you need to join our January 2021 #MentoringMonth campaign. Interested on joining this campaign? Here is why you should.

Reason 1

We need your voice to help elevate awareness of the impact and importance of mentoring, especially during the Pandemic. This is our collective opportunity to elevate mentoring to funders, corporate partners, and donors. You’ll be joining a global choir of mentoring leaders who are helping make change happen in our communities, one relationship at a time.  (Share Global: partners, youth video)

1. We will make it as easy as possible for you to share our socials. Watch for a custom #MentoringMonth toolkit coming soon.
2. For Corporate and Promotional partners, we will be creating special recognition opportunities. Even if you are not a mentoring service provider, you can help us elevate mentoring across Canada.
3. Boost searches: Please host a mentor connector search widget on your website? Reach out to [email protected] to help your visitors look for mentoring opportunities. We’ll provide you custom reporting on how many mentoring searches and applications you have helped facilitate.

 

Reason 2

With your help, we are going to recruit 1000 new mentors across Canada this January. We are doing a six-figure, cross-Canada advertising spend to help raise awareness and recruit more Canadians to become mentors. We need your help to roll out the welcome mat and help move visitors from curious to committed.

1. Get listed in the Mentor connector. When Canadians visit becomeamentor.ca and search their postal code, we want you to show up.
2. Plan a “virtual open house” or recruitment event this January to help engage alumni and prospects about your program.
3. Even if you are full at the moment, start a waitlist of potential volunteers, or suggest another way to help people give back.

 

Reason 3

As our schools and institutions continue to transition to virtual formats, by getting listed in the Mentor Connector, you’ll have first access to our FREE virtual mentoring platform. January 2021 we are rolling out our safe, secure, bilingual, mobile and secure Canadian-hosted mentoring platform. No matter what the pandemic or lockdown situation, we will make sure that our mentoring relationships are resilient.

 

Reason 4

Raise funds through an elevated understanding of the mentoring impact. We will be sharing new research about mentoring in Canada from the prospective of mentoring service providers, young people and the general public. Help educate your community about how we can work together to amplify the impact of mentoring.

1. We will be sharing this information with the Media this January. We will help prepare you to speak to local reporters about the local angle to the big picture story.
